Mandatory Modules / 1st semester

The first term in DSE consists of all the mandatory modules (except for the internship) in order to provide you with all the foundations required for the internship as well as for the compulsory elective modules.

Below, we compiled a table with important contacts and links of all the mandatory modules in the first term. Some of them use OPAL, some of them provide all material on their own web pages.

All courses in winter term 2021 will be (also) available online. As every lecturer is in charge of its own lecture, there might be severe differences in how the lectures, seminars, tutorials, etc. are conducted. Please always check their websites and get in contact with the lecturers if you find any issues. Please also keep in mind that all lectures are also available for other students than DSE students. All the modules / lectures below can also be attended by many others of our nearly 2000 students (faculty). Lecturers need to find solutions for all attendees, so sometimes it might not be the best suitable option for you – anyway, if you face problems, get in contact with the lecturers.

Schedule / Timetable

The schedule below doesn't necessarily apply in winter term 2021 due to COVID19 and online lectures. That means, some lecturers may provide their materials and video streams for asynchronous self-study and offer consultations but maybe do not do a weekly lecture via video conference. However, even if lecturers provide you all materials and videos upfront it might be helpful to have a daily/weekly schedule as a basis for self-organized learning.

Please note that names of lectures (below) and modules (above) may differ. Consider the module (above) as a container for the lectures and seminars (below). That's why names are not always equal.
