π INTRODUCTION TO CONSENSUS: Consensus is an academic search engine that uses AI to find insights in research papers. As you might know, searching through literature is a necessary part of research and learning. However itβs tedious and time-consuming. Consensus helps students and researchers get to the best science to review faster and thus, makes science more accessible for all!
- Sign in first.
- Type in your research question.
- The tool will give you a summary (feature) synthesizing relevant papers into a single question that answers your question. To activate Consensus AI-powered synthesis feature, you must ask a research question in the search bar, then enable the Synthesize toggle.
- Since the feature requires several relevant papers, focus on questions you think have been well-studied, like "Does exercise improve cognition?"
- The tool will provide you a Consensus meter (feature) so that you can quickly see if research leans "Yes", "Possibly", "No" to your question.
- Most importantly, the tool will list you Consensus search results meaning relevant papers (feature).
- The grey box contains an insight from the paper.
- If you asked a question, it will generate an answer form the paper.
- If you searched with keywords, this text will be the "Key Takeaway" that is extracted from every paper.
3. Select five relevent papers. Then, either download the full text (Click on the symbol "Full text") or save (Click on the symbol "Save") relevant papers in the tool.
π IMPORTANT REMINDER: A result appearing at the top does NOT mean it is true. Interpreting research is complicated. Click the paper tile to dig into the details of the study and find a link to the full text.
