Prevention of Violence and Anti-Discrimination at the University

The short workshop offers TUD employees an overview of the facets of hostility towards diversity and associated intervention strategies in everyday university life.  It offers a space for an exchange about experiences with harassment, discrimination and violence. The workshop is rounded off by joint reflection on the promotion of freedom of opinion and the ability to tolerate, criticise and deal with conflict at the university.

This workshop will focus on:

• Definition of harassment, discrimination, violence
• Statistical overview
• Overview of anti-discrimination work at the TUD
• Counselling and complaint channels at the TU Dresden
• Resource-orientated intervention strategies

Learning objectives

• Participants know the TUD guidelines for dealing with harassment, discrimination and violence and can apply them
• Participants have reflected on their own experiences with harassment, discrimination and violence
• Participants have developed personalised intervention strategies for dealing with harassment, discrimination and violence at the university
