This course includes the following modules.

Module 1 - Initial considerations

Content: Teaching of psychological basics for successful tutoring activities

Objectives:  

  • The participants in the basic qualification will learn ways to successfully integrate learning theories into their tutorial
  • The participants of the basic qualification learn to communicate their expectations of their learning group transparently and thereby reflect on their role as a tutor.

Processing time: Approx. 30 to 60 minutes

Module 2 - Teaching and learning spaces

Content: Finding teaching and learning spaces

Objectives: Participants in the basic qualification get to know various platforms and contacts so that they can book a suitable teaching and learning space independently. 

Processing time: Approx. 15 to 30 minutes 

Module 3 - Planning a tutorial

Content: Planning an exercise unit/tutorial

Objectives:

  • Getting to know the didactic mobile with planning aspects
  • Understand the importance of learning objectives
  • Get to know an example of a semester plan
  • Getting to know the sandwich method
  • Get to know and use the creation of a tutorial session plan

Processing time: Approx. 60 to 90 minutes

Module 4 - Simulating interactions (Learning from successes and mistakes - good and bad practice in teaching)

Content: Methodological and didactic suggestions and tips for tutoring activities

Objectives: 

  • Participants in the basic qualification receive input on various methods that they can implement in the tutorial. 
  • Participants in the basic qualification learn how to present successfully in the tutorial.
  • Participants in the basic qualification will learn about the advantages of group work and how to organize it.

Processing time: Approx. 15 to 30 minutes

Module 5 - Collection of materials

Content: Helpful material and hints are provided.

Ziele: The participants of the basic qualification can research and independently develop further materials and options for expanding their skills as a tutor.

Processing time: Approx. 60 to 90 minutes

Module 6 - Diversity

Content: Diversity in the tutorial: Ensuring greater learning success with equality and fairness 

Objectives: 

  • Understand unconscious bias and its influence on tutorial design
  • Get to know strategies for promoting diversity, especially in interaction with students
  • Further development of the tutorial to ensure equality and fairness in the tutorial

Processing time: Approx. 30 to 60 minutes

Module 7 - Mastering challenges

Content: Suitable solutions for difficult situations in the tutorial

Objectives: To be able to skillfully deal with difficult situations in the tutorial

Processing time: Approx. 15 to 30 minutes

Module 8 - Discover the 360-degree course room

Content: Get to know the seminar room of horror in a practical way, prepare the seminar room and eliminate analogue and digital pitfalls

Objective: Preparing your own seminar room sensibly and being prepared for pitfalls and difficulties

Processing time: Approx. 30 minutes

Module 9 - Peer teaching observation

Content: Enrolment for and preparation of a peer observation programme

Objectives: 

  • Review of created materials
  • Reflection discussion about your tutorial
  • Specific support for your learning guidance

Processing time: Approx. 160 minutes
