Your access to the world of TUD

No access without a key or login and two-factor authentication. This also applies to your studies at TU Dresden. That's why you will regularly be asked to log in with your ZIH login. Find out below what you need to do and which other important doors it will open for you.

ZIH-Login – your virtual key

Without your ZIH login (Zentrum für Informationsdienste und Hochleistungsrechnen – Centre for Information Services and High Performance Computing), you can't do anything. You will receive this at the beginning of your studies. Then be sure to create a token for two-factor authentication.
With the ZIH login, you will then have access to various TUD web portals and applications, such as:

Some of these portals and applications are presented in more detail below.

SELMA – study organisation made easy

The student portal selma (self-management) enables you to independently access organisational information about your studies and to initiate some administrative processes. You also need your ZIH login to register.
SELMA offers you the following functions:

You can find a detailed description of how to register for and cancel registration for modules and exams in the instructions from the Office of Student Affairs.

Outlook Web App – stay in touch

With the TU Dresden web mail service ‘Outlook Web App’ (OWA), you can find all contacts for TU employees and write e-mails to professors, lecturers or your supervisor. You can also use it to synchronise your Outlook (calendar).

Tip: To make sure you don't miss any study-related information, check your TUD email address regularly or simply redirect your TUD emails to a private mailbox! For detailed setup instructions and information about the Service Desk, which you can contact in writing, by phone or in person with any questions or problems, see the link.
