CONTENT OF THE COURSE
The course focuses on strategic management tasks related to new product development and new product introduction. The course deals with general innovation terms and innovation theories. Moreover, the course material also includes innovation strategies, internal and external innovation conditions as well as organizational, personal, and financial factors relevant to successful new product development and introduction. We will go through the early phases of the innovation process, including idea generation and the development of a full product concept, to later phases of the innovation process, including prototyping and market introduction.
The course consists of a lecture AND a seminar. The seminar is practice-oriented and seeks to consolidate the lecture's materials.

Assessment and Requirements
Students receive the module credits once the module examination has been successfully completed.
The module examination consists of two components:
Project work with an estimated workload of 50 hours
Written exam with a duration of 90 minutes
A total of 5 ECTS credits can be obtained in this module.
The final module grade is calculated as the weighted average of the two examination components:
Project work: 50%
Written exam: 50%
Both examination components must be passed individually in order to successfully complete the module and receive the credits.
