2020 Proseminar: Experimental Nuclear and Particle Physics
TU Dresden | Sommersemester 2020
2020 Proseminar: Experimental Nuclear and Particle Physics
Proseminar
Content
The IKTP-Proseminar "Experimental Nuclear and Particle Physics" will cover a wide range of topics in fundamental physics relevant to much of the research performed at the IKTP. Guidelines for scientific presentations will be given and the proseminar talks will be analyzed.
Information
Time: Tuesday, 3. DS. (11:10 - 12:40)
Place: SE2/201/H
Chairman: Dr. T. Wester
Organizer: Marcel Grieger (marcel.grieger@tu-dresden.de)
- The language of this Proseminar is English.
Corona epidemic adjustments
- The first talks will be held on May 5. This date is preliminary. In case the university is still in emergency operation mode by that time (likely), early talks will be held via online streaming. More information will come later.
- Please message the organizer as soon as possible with your preferred topics. If possible we try to shift the starting to an even later date to avoid online talks, but for this we need to know how many people are participating.
- Update April 28: All talks will be held on June 9 and June 16. Presentations will happen through video conference.
- Update May 27: The entire Proseminar will take place on BigBlueButton. You can book a self-usage room for testing purposes following this link. The presentation folder now contains some tips on presentation skills, please have a look!
- Update June 14: Second session link: https://selfservice.zih.tu-dresden.de/l/link.php?meeting_id=9836&pin=ef924b36. Session will be open on june 9th from 10:40 to 13:10. Talks start at 11:10.
How to participate/apply?
- Please contact the organizer (m.grieger@hzdr.de) via email as soon as possible and indicate three preferred topics from the list below (The crossed out topics are already chosen). Also add your matrikel number to the Email.
- Alternatively simply show up in the first seminar and pick one of the remaining topics.
About the presentation
- Preparatory meetings: 2 meetings for each talk, further details by email
- Every talk will last 30 minutes
- All necessary materials will be provided after all topics are distributed
- Talks should be given with prepared slides in English (laptop, beamer and pointer will be provided)
