Optimization on Manifolds
Many optimization problems are formulated over sets which do not possess the structure of a vector space but rather of a manifold. In this class we will get to know such problems. We give a thorough introduction into the basics of differential geometry in order to see how the well known concepts such as the gradient as well as simple optimization schemes translate from Rn to manifolds.
