Throughout the research process, you are increasingly expected to present yourself, your research work, and your institutional affiliation. But how can you ensure that your scholarly publications are clearly linked to you? Identical names, name changes (e.g., due to marriage), different spellings, umlauts in names, and other factors can make it difficult to find your work. Consequently, publishers are increasingly requiring an ORCID iD when a manuscript is submitted, and research funders are doing the same for third-party funding applications. |

ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is a publisher-independent platform for creating a personal identification number that ensures the permanent association of authors with their publications. Link your research output to your profile and secure your authorship with an ORCID iD. |

This course provides a step-by-step guide on how to effectively use your ORCID account after successfully registering. It focuses on specific key areas. What should you pay particular attention to during registration? What are the most important features of your personal record? And how can you streamline the process? The course also covers specific applications within the SLUB and TU contexts. |
