The English-taught MBA programme of International Business and Resources in Emerging Markets provides future Eastern and Western managers with the theoretical and practical insights into modern international business administration and development economics needed to excel in top-careers.

General information

The programme consists of 120 credit points (CP), i.e. 4 semesters of an average of 30 CP. These are composed of:

The term "SWS" means the hours you have to spend per week per semester in face-to-face teaching units.

International Business

1st Semester

Compulsory modules

Credit points 18
Lectures: 5 SWS
Exercises: 7 SWS
Modules: International Development and Resources, Methods of Analysis and Econometrics, Professional Communication

Elective modules

Modules amounting to approx. 12 CP are to be selected.

2nd Semester

Compulsory modules

Credit points 9
Lectures: 4 SWS
Exercises: 2 SWS
Modules: Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior, International Business and Management

Elective modules

Modules amounting to approx. 21 CP are to be selected, or as many as are needed to fulfil the amount of points required.

3rd Semester

Study at partner university (29 CP) The subjects are determined within the framework of a cooperation agreement. The scope is usually 29 credit points, which are recognised for the programme; in the case of a double degree, it is usually 60 credit points. The examination modalities are based on the rules of the foreign partner university.

4th Semester

The last half year before you receive your MBA degree is coming up. This semester is about the Master's thesis (20 CP) and last elective modules. Good luck to you who are reading this right now. Elective modules

Modules amounting to 18 CP must be selected from the compulsory catalogue.

free elective modules

Modules amounting to 6 CP are to be selected from the range offered by the TU Bergakademie Freiberg or a cooperating university. Modules from the catalogue of elective modules can also be selected as free elective modules, as long as these have not already been selected as elective modules.
