Knowledge Representation and Reasoning Seminar

CMS-LM-ADV, CMS-LM-AI, CMS-SEM, INF-04-HS, INF-AQUA, INF-D-940, MCL-PS

This semester the topic of the KRR seminar is Explainable AI (XAI), with a special focus on papers that aim to achieve XAI by combining machine learning approaches with research in either logic, cognitive science or psychology, as well as papers that explore the methodological foundations of XAI.

The seminar will take place on Thursdays at 14:50–16:20 in room E005. The first session is on 20th of October.

Format of the Seminar

Please note that this seminar will only take place if at least five students sign up for it.

Some papers will be listed in this OPAL page. Participants will be asked to choose from these papers by 3 November. Depending on the final number of participants however, this list might not be an exhaustive one. In such a case a few participants might be asked to choose a paper from the internet, the quality and relevance of which will be cross-checked and confirmed by us.

Participants will be required to to prepare a 30 minute presentation on the paper. One week before the presentation, participants will be expected to hand in a short report of about 5 to 10 pages that summarizes the paper with a focus on the topics that will be explained in the presentation.

The presentations will take place between the 8th of December and the 2nd of February.
