Stochastic Methods for Materials Science (WiSe 2022/23)

The objective of this lecture is to convey an understanding of the role of stochastic modelling and stochastic algorithms for materials science. The range of topics includes

• models and algorithms for the simulation of random structures,
• statistical and stereological analysis of structural data,
• Markov-Chain-Monte-Carlo algorithms for structure generation, parameter estimation and structure reconstruction.
