Grundlagen der Isotopengeochemie (Fundamentals of Isotope Geochemistry)

This course introduces the fundamentals of how isotope ratio measurements are used in the geosciences, with special reference to applications in geodynamics, petrology, and ore-forming processes. The lectures will explain the design of analytical equipment used for isotope ratio measurements and present examples of methodology from sampling in the field to mass-spectrometry work in the laboratory, plus data interpretation.

The course is delivered by a guest lecturer, Dr. Katie Smart, who is an expert on both stable and radiogenic isotope applications in the geosciences.
