Emerging Photovoltaics Lab (summer term 2025)

Description:

In the “Emerging Photovoltaics Lab” (Prof. Karl Leo) the students will follow an extended introduction to thin film solar cells with focus to challenges, production techniques, and typical characterization of solar cells. Afterwards, the students will prepare organic solar cells by screen-printing and characterize their performance.

• Time:              Wednesday 4. + 5. DS (13:00 - 16:20)
• First course:   April 16

• General structure of the course:
  • 3 seminars with theory background (April 16, April 23, April 30), duration 90 min. each
  • 1 written test (May 7)
  • 2 lab course units (see below)
  • 1 protocol

Lab-course procedure:

• Group subcription: will be announced later
• Appointment subcription: will be announced later
• Place: Hermann-Krone Bau
• Part 1: Fabrication of printed, organic solar cell
• Part 2: Characterization of the solar cells

Final grade

• 25% written test
• 25% engagement during the lab course
• 50% protocol
