This lecture deals with the analysis and management of innovations and innovation processes from a business economics perspective.
The module starts with a systematic overview of invention and innovation, providing basic economic knowledge about the sources, drivers and barriers for innovation. Selected practical examples and case studies shed light on particularly innovative industries. The module covers behavioral and strategic implications of innovation-oriented investments and analyses in depth issues like learning strategies, strategic cooperation and innovation networks and tournaments. Finally, the module derives conclusions for efficient innovation policies, from both a business and public perspective.
The module teaches the basics of analyzing so-called cyber risks from an economic perspective.
