W005 - Introduction to Simulation Game - WS 2024-2025

Dear students,

Welcome to the Course W 005 – Introduction to Business Simulation!

Our first getting–to-know-lesson will be online, 1.10., at 9:45

Please use this opportunity for networking with other students who might become your teammates or competitors for the following weeks.

We will work online on different aspects of Business Management by creating teams/companies and exploring the world of business development.

TOPSIM is an online business simulation game (all lessons are online!) where teams compete by making international business strategy decisions in different areas of business management. Lots of group work & group discussions are at the heart of this course.

These are the milestones of our game –

• Introduction to the course  & getting to know each other - 1.10.24
• Introduction to the game and strategy lesson, start playing the 1. round - 29.10.24
• Playing the first test round, making decisions - 5.11. - on your own within your teams
• Initial Meeting for each company separately – to present your initial strategies (on the 12.11.24)
• Start playing the game - 29.11.24 with three rounds/ 3 decision making appointments - 26.11, 13.12., 10.01
• Final General Assembly for all – to present your results and your learnings! (21.01.25). Please prepare a Power Point,upload it before the beginning of our session into Opal (Folder Students Presentations) and be ready to present your results.
