Solar Energy Conversion
Institut für Angewandte Physik | Winter semester 2025 / 2026
Solar Energy Conversion
General description:
This lecture series covers various aspects of the topic of Solar Energy Conversion. We will start with the greenhouse effect and general considerations for the green energy transition. Afterward, we will focus on the physics of different technologies to convert solar energy, focusing on solar thermal energy conversion and photovoltaics. For photovoltaics, we will discuss the general function principle, discuss technology aspects, and dive into emerging semiconductors for photovoltaic applications such as Perovskites and organic solar cells.
Outline:
- Energy economy
- The Sun and Sun Earth interaction
