Master Course: Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM)

Summer Term 2024

This course aims to convey basic knowledge of SHRM and the subjects relevant to SHRM in organizations.

Instructor: Jun.-Prof. Dr. Sebastian Störmer

Objectives: Students know and understand the central importance of human resource management for sustainable and successful corporate development. They are able to use this knowledge to facilitate corporate development and sound decision-making in their future careers. Furthermore, the seminar imparts critical knowledge with regard to academic writing and presenting central findings in accordance with scientific standards.

Topical Focus:

In the 2024 summer term, the topical focus is: Diversity and inclusion management in organizations.

Evaluation: Seminar paper

Exam requirements: To pass the course, students have to work in teams and produce a joint paper. Further, they are expected to share their findings with their co-students as part of a presentation of their paper.

Expected prerequisites: Fundamental knowledge of business administration, in particular regarding HRM and/or organization management, equiv. to completed Bachelor studies/ ”Grundstudium”.

Application: Students enroll for the course in OPAL. After enrollment, lots will be drawn to determine participants.

The application window is open from March 20 2024, 12 pm, and will end April 2 2024, 12 pm.

Notifications of acceptance will be sent on April 5 2024.

Schedule: The first session will take place April 17 2024, 11:10-12:40 pm in SCH A105/P. Further dates and literature will be announced in the kick-off session. Students will receive further notifications via OPAL/E-Mail in advance.
