It examines the religious and cultural foundations that shaped distinct artistic styles and decorative motifs. Students will acquire a solid understanding of the distinguishing characteristics, schools of art, and historically renowned Muslim artists. Additionally, the course will reflect on how cultural exchanges with Europe and the East have enriched Islamic book art, architecture, calligraphy, painting, glass art, ceramics, and textiles on each side.
