S: Critical Intercultural Competence II (Interkulturelle Kompetenz II)
This winter semester, we are delighted to extend the successful collaboration between the Juniorprofessorship and the International Office, which began last semester with the integration of the Buddy Program into the seminar “Critical Intercultural Competence II” (Interkulturelle Kompetenz II). The course starts on October 23, 2024.
This course is regularly open to students in the following study programs: Bachelor of Intercultural Communication (B_KO_5), Bachelor of Pedagogy (B_Pä_1), Master of Digital Media and Communication Cultures (M_DK_3), and Master of Media Informatics (M_MI_3).
We are especially pleased to invite students from the Buddy Program to participate, offering them a valuable opportunity to engage in thoughtful discussions about culture, identity, interculturality and intercultural competence, drawing on both theoretical knowledge and personal experiences.
The seminar will take place every Wednesday from 17:15 to 18:45 in room C25.035 (alt: 2/W035). Upon successful completion of the course, Buddy Program participants will receive a certificate of attendance for the Critical Intercultural Competence course.
In this interactive and collaborative seminar, we will explore various approaches to culture and interculturality. Students will have ample opportunities to reflect on and discuss their perceptions and experiences, making the course not only a theoretical exploration but also a bridge to understanding everyday practices. This is particularly beneficial for Buddy Program participants, as it provides valuable insights to enhance their mentoring roles. For international students, it’s an excellent opportunity to better understand intercultural processes through group discussions.
