Umweltringvorlesung "Stadt im Wandel – nachhaltige Stadt- und Raumplanung"

TU Dresden | Winter semester 2025 / 2026 Climate action is human protection

Environmental Ring Lecture

The climate crisis is exacerbating existing inequalities and jeopardizing human security worldwide. The effects of climate change are felt most strongly by those who are least responsible for it. In the Global North, however, the effects are barely noticeable. The plight of people forced to flee due to climate change is often not recognized and there is a lack of international protection mechanisms. Climate protection must be understood and implemented as human protection. This year's environmental lecture series, in cooperation with Amnesty International, will focus on the link between protecting the environment and safeguarding human rights. Through various lectures, the lecture series offers insights into the problems of climate injustice and the need for global climate protection measures that directly relate to the protection of human dignity. We invite you to join us in raising awareness of the issues and discussing what a fairer climate policy could look like.

The ring lecture is open to all and will be recorded and uploaded on the Videocampus Saxony Website. Most lectures will be held in German. If you need translation, please contact us at urv@tu-dresden.de.
