Software Engineering for Highly-Configurable and Self-Optimizing Systems
Lehrstuhl Softwaretechnologie | Summer semester 2026
Software Engineering for Highly-Configurable and Self-Optimizing Systems
Highly-configurable software systems combine benefits of software platforms, such as systematic reuse, reduced costs, and faster time-to-market; while providing high customization to meet the needs of diverse domains, environments, or user groups.
Optimizing such software systems enables derivation of high-quality products regarding functional and non-functional properties, but is challenging since the configuration space is vast. Self-optimizing properties allow the system to automate identification of promising configuration.
With this course you will gain the skills to design, engineer, maintain, and evolve highly-configurable and self-optimizing systems.
