Accessibility statement

The Chemnitz University of Technology is committed to making its web applications barrier-free in accordance with the Saxon Inclusion Act (SächsInklusG) and the Barrier-Free Web Site Act (BfWebG) in conjunction with the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0). These laws are in compliance with Directive (EU) 2016/2102.

Scope of this accessibility statement:

The following statements refer to the OPAL learning platform and ONYX Testsuite, not to the content posted by users. The persons who provide the content (e.g. documents or courses) in the learning management system are responsible for creating and maintaining the content in an accessible way.

State of accessibility

The standards for accessibility are the international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.2) at conformance level AA and the European standard EN 301 549, version 3.1.1.

OPAL and ONYX

The OPAL learning platform and the ONYX test suite are partially compliant with the above mentioned legal requirements due to the following incompatibilities. The incompatibilities are listed below under "Non-accessible content".

We are constantly working to ensure that we continue to meet these standards and that this can be verified through independent testing.

Teaching and learning content

Teaching and learning content are subject to self-assessment on the basis of centrally provided instructions, checklists and training courses at Chemnitz University of Technology.

Teaching and learning content

Subtitles or audio description are currently not always available for embedded videos.

Not all included documents are available in a barrier-free form.

This statement was issued on 11/03/2021 and last updated on 24/01/2024.

We determine the status of accessibility on a regular basis through our own audit. The last audit was conducted in 2023 in cooperation with TU Dresden.

Enforcement procedure

You have submitted a request regarding the accessibility of the OPAL learning platform or the ONYX test suite using the contact details above. If no satisfactory solution is found within a reasonable period of time (usually four weeks), you can contact the Geschäftsstelle des Landesbeauftragten für Inklusion der Menschen mit Behinderungen (Office of the State Commissioner for the Integration of People with Disabilities (Enforcement Body)) at the Sächsische Staatskanzlei (Saxon State Government), which is responsible for the enforcement procedure. The Enforcement Office supports out-of-court dispute resolution when conflicts arise between public bodies in Saxony and users of websites or mobile applications. This conciliation procedure is free of charge. The involvement of a lawyer is not required.
