Learning Buddy User Interface Survey

This study is part of a Master’s thesis at TU Chemnitz and investigates the user experience of an LLM-based learning assistant called Learning Buddy. The goal is to evaluate usability, user experience, and perceived usefulness in a higher education context.

Use of Personal Data

In this study, your responses will be collected and processed in anonymized form. No personally identifiable information will be stored.

The data will be used exclusively for academic research as part of a Master’s thesis at TU Chemnitz. Anonymized results may be published in aggregated form in Master’s thesis & in scientific publications.

The legal basis for data processing is your voluntary consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Data will be stored on TU Chemnitz systems and handled in accordance with applicable data protection regulations.

Your participation in this survey is entirely voluntary, and you are free to end it at any time without providing any reason. Ending the experiment will not lead to any disadvantages.

Procedure – What You Will Do

This study consists of three parts-

  1. Short demographic questionnaire
  2. Interaction with an LLM-based learning assistant (chat interface)
  3. Evaluation questionnaire about your experience

You will:

  • Interact with the LLM-based chatbot
  • Ask questions related to a study topic
  • Complete short experience-based questions
