To establish a circular economy for fibre-reinforced composites, the reuse and recycling of these materials is of crucial importance. As part of the EU project EuReComp, we are investigating circularity strategies for large composite structures e.g. from wind and aircraft industry. In this way, we aim to convert fibre-reinforced plastic waste into new products and reduce landfill.

To optimise these circularity strategies and estimate their potential impact, we assess the current state of the industry in this short survey. It helps us gaining a better understanding of the current status of composite recycling and the technical, economic and political challenges in the sector.
