Design and Control of Smart Production Systems
Contents:
The basic knowledge of the design of modern machines is imparted on the example of the mechatronic system of a machine tool. Based on a detailed description of central components of machine tools the interaction of them in the operation of the machine is shown. This includes an overview of automation in mechanical engineering with regard to structure, functionalities, programming and operation of current control systems is given.
The analysis of machine characteristics, process monitoring and the data management in the process and the process chain are discussed in principle and deepened at case studies. The extension of process limits by integration of actoric and sensoric functionality near the working point is examined.
Qualification objectives:
After completion of the module the students are able to,
- recommend a suitable control system for typical applications in mechanical engineering
- explain several components of a machine tool and multi machine tool systems
- execute experimental and simulative methods to identify machine characteristics
- implement the potentials of data entry and data analysis based on the situation
- identify and evaluate interrelationships in the mechatronic system of a machine tool interdisciplinary.
