Topics in Biological Physics (Hauptseminar)
In this reading seminar, we will study seminal publications from Theoretical Biological Physics. The selected publications will highlight how physical descriptions can be used to understand complex biological systems. There will be strong cross-connections to the fields of nonlinear dynamics, stochastic processes and statistical physics.
The reading seminar is targeted at physics master students, especially those specializing in 'Soft condensed matter and biological physics (WKMBP)', as well as interested students from the NanoBioPhysics master course at CMCB or the Computational Modeling and Simulation master course the faculty for computer science.
Each participant will give a 45' presentation on an assigned topic, summarizing 1-2 original publications (balanced by appropriate textbook resources).
