E124b (Bachelor) – Study Program Electrical Engineering / Elektrotechnik (PO 2023)

Recognition of examinations in the case of change of university

In the case of a change of university, the recognition of examinations already taken will take place upon your application after matriculation.

  • You will be placed in a semester corresponding to your study progress by the Student Secretariat upon enrollment. If there is any uncertainty, the examination board or the dean of studies will be involved in the classification.
  • After successful enrollment, your grade portal (https://wwwqis.htw-dresden.de/) is still empty. You should now contact the relevant university lecturers very promptly and submit the applications for recognition of examination results (see https://www.htw-dresden.de/fileadmin/HTW/Studium/2_im_Studium/Pruefungsangelegenheiten/Dokumente/23_Pruefungsanerkennung.pdf).
  • The applications are to be endorsed by the corresponding university teachers. Subsequently, the confirmation by the examination board has to be obtained.
    • To do this, you will need your grade records and the module descriptions from your previous university.
    • The relevant university lecturer will make a subject-related assessment and note this on the application for credit.
    • Subsequently, all documents must be submitted to the examination board of your faculty, which will decide on the crediting. The chairperson of the examination board of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering is Prof. Gudrun Flach.
  • After successful crediting, the exam results appear in your grade portal with the note "a" for "credited exam result".
  • Further important notes:
    • Due to the automatic registration at HTW Dresden for all open examinations according to the examination schedule (see study and examination regulations), you may already be registered for examinations during the first months of your studies.
    • An example:
      • You are entering the 5th semester at HTW Dresden. This means that all examinations of the semesters 1 - 5 are still open and you will be registered for all upcoming examination dates of the semesters 1 - 5. This applies to written and oral examinations as well as to all alternative examinations (APL, such as lab trainings and projects).
    • Once the examination procedure in a module has been opened (e.g. you have received a 5ue due to non-attendance of a registered examination.), a subsequent recognition of your examination results achieved at another university is no longer possible.
    • Conclusion: You should approach the crediting of examination results in a very timely manner.
