SUUUpoRT - Discrete Element Method
The Discrete Element Method (DEM) is a numerical method for modeling the bulk behavior of granular materials like powders, sand, and tablets on the particle scale. DEM is applied to simulate and analyze granular dynamics, e.g. flow behavior in a wide range of disciplines including mechanical and process engineering, geotechniques and more. DEM can be coupled to other numerical methods like the finite volume method in computational fluid dynamics. In the course, the theoretical background behind DEM and applications of DEM ar introduced.
