Low-temperature physics of quantum materials

In this lecture, we will study the physics of fundamental quantum phenomena like Bose-Einstein condensation, Fermi liquid and superfluidity occurring in condensed matter systems at low temperature. We will also focus on different bulk experimental techniques used in low-temperature labs and what they can tell us.

The lecture takes place every Tuesday at 11.10 o'clock in the room Rec/D16. The first lecture is on Tuesday Oct. 24th.

In this lecture, starting with He and going to unconventional superconductors, we will study the physics of quantum states occurring in condensed matter systems at low temperature. We will discuss the phase diagrams of various correlated materials, with the aim to draw analogies between different systems. We will also focus on different bulk experimental techniques used in experimental  low-temperature labs and what they can tell us.
