Content of the Magnetism II module (Methods and applications of magnetic materials):
This module focuses on magnetism and magnetic materials in the form of thin film systems and nanostructures, as well as their characterization and applications in the field of data storage and spintronics.
- Magnetic thin film systems and nanostructures: fabrication, characterization, and magnetic properties
- Introduction to magnetic characterization methods
- Magnetization dynamics and resonance effects
- Magnetic coupling effects
- Magnetoresistance effects
- Magnetic data storage: hard disks and magnetic random access memory (MRAM)
Qualification objectives:
- Knowledge of the fabrication and characterization of thin magnetic films
- Knowledge of magnetic data storage and spintronics
- Ability to work independently with specialized scientific literature
