AI Methods for ComNets (Trial version)

The course Artificial Intelligence (AI) Methods for Communication Networks (ComNets) aims at providing the students with the fundamental concepts for the design and optimization of communication networks with the aid of AI methods. Besides providing the mathematical background, the course focuses on the modelling of network optimization problems in application scenarios such as traffic engineering and routing, network security, failure detection and localization, etc.

The course follows a technology-agnostic methodology to emphasize that the AI methods are applicable to any network technology. The concepts are illustrated with examples that include use cases applicable to a wide variety of technologies, such as wireless and optical networks with distributed and software-defined control. From a practical perspective, the students gain hands-on skills by the use of suitable software tools such as Python.
