Synergies of Machine Learning and Mathematical Modeling in Biology

TU Dresden | Sommersemester 2026 Seminar: Synergies of Machine Learning and Mathematical Modeling in Biology 2026

Seminar in Mathematical Biology

(Summer term 2026)

"Synergies of machine learning and mathematical modeling in biology"

The integration of machine learning (ML) and mathematical modeling is revolutionizing biological research by offering powerful tools for data-driven discovery and predictive modeling . ML algorithms excel at detecting intricate patterns in high-dimensional biological data, while mathematical models provide mechanistic insights into biological processes.

The seminar will introduce key concepts through oral presentations and discussions , with the final program determined during the kickoff meeting. It is designed for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as researchers from mathematics, physics, biology, medicine, and computer science who are interested in this highly interdisciplinary field.
