Technical English (SPR06050-S-1 & SPR06070-S-1)
This class is open for students in the areas of Textile Design, Engineering, Medical Fields, Technology or a similar field where English is required for your studies. Apart from learning specialized terms in relation to your fields, students will have an opportunity to acquire the following skills:
Presentation Skills
Oral Communication Skills in areas such as negotiations, meetings, etc.
Other business skills in the form of written communications, including job applications in the industry, correspondence, etc.
The class will be divided up into two parts: The weekly portion will look at the aforementioned topics, whereas the bi-weekly portion will cover the specialized topics respective of your fields of studies.
Students wishing to pass the course must complete a presentation and pass the final written exam scheduled for the end of the semester. Details will be given in class.
