Oberseminar
Inhalt und Ziel:
Alle Studierenden, die ihre Abschlussarbeit (Bachelor oder Master) bei Prof. Linhart (Politische Systeme) oder Prof. Leininger (Juniorprofessur Politikwissenschaftliche Forschungsmethoden) verfassen möchten, nehmen an dem Kolloquium teil. In der Veranstaltung stellen sie ihre Vorhaben für Abschlussarbeiten vor, die im Anschluss gemeinsam diskutiert werden.

Da in der konstituierenden Sitzung die Organisation des Kolloquiums besprochen wird und die Termine vergeben werden, ist eine Teilnahme an dieser Sitzung absolut notwendig! Sollten Sie verhindert sein, aber am Kolloquium teilnehmen wollen, melden Sie sich bitte vor der ersten Sitzung per Email bei Prof. Linhart bzw. bei Prof. Leininger!
Weitere Termine: werden in der konstituierenden Sitzung besprochen und bekannt gegeben.
Leistungsanforderungen:
PVL: Exposé und Vortrag (10-15 min.) über die geplante Abschlussarbeit.
Eine Teilnahme an den anderen Sitzungen und die Beteiligung an Diskussionen über Exposés der Kommiliton:innen wird erwartet.
Anerkennung:
Als PVL in den Modulen MBA (Bachelor) bzw. MPMMA (Master).
Content and Objective:
All students who would like to write their final thesis (Bachelor or Master) with Prof. Linhart (Political Systems) or Prof. Leininger (Junior Professorship Political Science Research Methods) participate in the colloquium. In the event, they will present their plans for final theses, which will be discussed together afterward.

First (constituent) meeting: Wed, October 23, 2024, 3:30 p.m.
Since in the inception meeting, the organization of the colloquium will be discussed and presentation dates will be assigned, attendance at this meeting is madanatory! If you are unable to attend but would like to participate in the colloquium, please contact Prof. Linhart or Prof. Leininger by email before the first session!
Further dates: will be discussed and announced in the constituent meeting.
The Oberseminar is open to doctoral candidates, to students completing their MA, Staatsexamen or Master Thesis, and to those approaching the end of their studies. It is intended to give the participants the opportunity to introduce their projects, and to learn from the presentations given.
The focus will be on theoretical approaches and their application to the projects, with the added intention of fostering an exchange of research interests and ideas among advanced students of English/American Literature and British/American Cultural Studies in the department. A prerequisite for those attending is the willingness to present the findings of their work as well as to lead the ensuing group discussions.
- For LiKWa-students this course serves as “Forschungslaboratorium”, and for Master-students it serves a double function:
- as the “Peer Colloquium,” it is part of “Wissenschaftliche Praxis II”, and
- as the forum for the “Colloquium“ it is part of the “Modul Wissenschaftliche Präsentation”.
Both requirements have to be met in different semesters. The first session will take place in the second week of term.
