TUBAFdigital - Computer Tomography in Geosciences
The course offers an introduction of CT in geosciences. Course topics will cover the X-ray principles and physics, comparison to different imaging techniques, CT image acquisition, and image reconstruction- and analysis methods. The techniques for 3D pore-scale visualizations of geological media, image segmentation, thresholding and extraction of key geological features from CT image will be elaborated. Furthermore, the characterization of multiphase flow at pore-scale in geological media, emphasizing the role of wettability of the geological medium will be demonstrated using CT-technique.
