GLORIUS_Vorlesung: Migration in Europa
Inhalt: The lecture deals with migration processes in Europe, their causes and consequences. Based on an introduction to the history and theory of migration studies, the lecture uses empirical examples to examine selected migration movements that have strongly influenced the development of Europe and individual states. Migration is addressed as a multi-causal phenomenon. Interactions between migration and economic, social and societal developments in countries of origin and destination are analysed from multiple perspectives.
The lecture is taught in English.
The aim of the lecture is to understand migration in Europe as a multi-causal phenomenon and to be familiar with multiple analytical approaches. Based on the theoretical and empirical knowledge of migration in Europe, participants will be enabled to generate their own research perspectives in the field of migration research and to conduct current and future discourses on migration in an informed and balanced manner.
