After a successful first round in January 2024, the second edition of our symposium “Life@Lab 2 – Horizons of AI research in higher education” will take place in the SLUB Open Science Lab. The event is dedicated to various intersections of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and higher education. It will take place on February 12th & 13th, 2025 and welcomes educators, AI researchers, other interested professionals and students alike.
The symposium is part of the nationwide project Konzertierte Weiterbildungen zu künstlicher Intelligenz in der Hochschullehre of the Netzwerk Landeseinrichtungen für die digitale Hochschullehre (NeL) and funded by Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre (StIL).
The symposium is realized in in collaboration with:
- Arbeitskreis E-Learning der Landesrektorenkonferenz Sachsen
- Center for Scalable Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (ScaDS.AI)
- Center for Open Digital Innovation and Participation (CODIP) at TUD Dresden University of Technology
- Sächsische Landesbibliothek – Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Dresden (SLUB).
Life@Lab 2 will focus on three key themes:
- Education and AI: Discover how AI is transforming the educational landscape. We will explore innovative teaching methods, personalized learning experiences and the role of AI in enhancing student engagement and performance.
- Ethical AI: As AI continues to evolve, ethical considerations become paramount. Join us as we discuss the importance of transparency, fairness, and accountability in AI systems used within educational settings. Our panel of experts will share insights on how to ensure that AI technologies are developed and implemented responsibly.
- Sustainable AI: The integration of AI in education both as a tool and a research topic also opens up discussions about ecological sustainability. Can AI really contribute to sustainable outcomes within and beyond educational institutions? Or are we trading technological progress for planetary exploitation?
Who Should Attend?
Life@Lab 2 is designed for educators, researchers, policymakers and anyone interested in the future of education and technology. Whether you are an AI enthusiast or a sustainability advocate, this event will provide valuable insights and foster meaningful discussions.
